Best Raw Food Recipes: Iced Mocha Latte

Last summer Amy came up with the matcha latte that we had here at HQ on a daily basis.  It’s the perfect cooling drink for hot summer days.

And it’s perky too!

This summer I added the coconut oil and hemp seed, which makes it really creamy, not to mention turbo charges the nutrition.

I used Bulletproof coconut oil as it’s liquid even at cold temperatures, whereas the regular coconut oil you may already have can get a bit clumpy when it’s cold.  But if you’ve got a really strong blender, you’ll be fine with either.

You can adjust the amount of matcha here to suits your tastes, and what you’re used to, if it’s too much zing for you.

Have a play with it.

If you don’t have a really strong blender, or if you overdo the ice a bit, you’ll get an icy slushy top to it, which actually, I really like.

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1/2 cup hulled hemp seed
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 dropper Sweatleaf Vanilla Creme stevia
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 5 to 10 ice-cubes
  1. Blend everything in a high speed blender until smooth and serve immediately.

Best Raw Food Recipes: Avocado Bagels

Got this recipe from The Raw Food Chef this morning and it is one of the Best Raw Food Recipes I have had in a long time. Check it out!


  • 1 cup quinoa flour
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1 cup almond pulp flour
  • 2 tbsp psyllium powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 medium courgette, peeled
  • ÂĽ cup cashews
  • ÂĽ cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ÂĽ cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  1. Mix quinoa flour, oat flour, almond pulp flour, psyllium powder, onion powder, garlic powder together in a large bowl.
  2. In a high speed blender, process the courgette, cashews, olive oil, maple syrup, nutritional yeast, apple cider vinegar and water until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well to combine. The mixture will thicken up after about 5 minutes. Once thickened, form into a ball and then roll into bagels, with the use of a mould if you have one. I prefer to make half bagels, so they don’t need cutting at a later stage, but you can play around with this.
  4. Dehydrate on a mesh dehydrator tray for 6 to 8 hours at 115 degrees F.

Caper Dill Cream Cheese

  • 1 cup cashews
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp honey or a few drops stevia
  • ÂĽ cup caper berries, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, minced
  1. Pulse in a blender and store in an airtight container in a refrigerator for up to 1 week.

  • Large handful rocket (arugula) leaves
  • 3 or 4 baby tomatoes
  • An avocado
  1. Spread some caper dill cream cheese on each bagel half, then add avocado, tomatoes and rocket leaves. I like to also grind some black or white pepper on top. These can be served open faced or as a sandwich.

For the Ice Cream:

2 Cups Cashews
1/2 Cup Coconut Butter/Oil
1/4 Cup Agave Nectar
1 Vanilla Pod
1 Cup Almond Milk*
1 Tsp Lemon Juice
1/2 Cup tightly-packed Fresh Mint Leaves

For the Florentines:

1/2 Cup Cashews
3T cacao powder
1/4c melted cacao butter
1/2t lemon juice
3T agave nectar
1/4c almond milk
1/4c cacao nibs
1/2c pistachio nuts, roughly chopped

Best Raw Food Recipes: Curried Raw Food Sun Burgers

Everyone loves burgers!

For the burger
2 Cups sundried tomatoes, soaked*
1,5 Cups sunflower seeds, soaked*
3 Tbsp + 1 Tbsp to sprinkle  chia seeds
1 Tbsp hot madras curry powder (mine is a mix of coriander, turmeric, mustard, chilli, bengal gram (black chickpea), cumin, fenugreek, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, fennel)

For the extras
Cashew soured cream (blend of soaked cashews, water and lemon juice)
Lettuce leaves
